Our Romance

Audrey and Sam met while playing ultimate frisbee in Santa Barbara back in 2017. In 2023 they moved across the country to South Carolina and almost exactly a year later got engaged on a beautiful rainy hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Audrey and Sam's love of camping and traveling have taken them to Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, Portugal, and up and down the California coast. When Audrey and Sam aren't traveling, they cherish daily walks with their dogs Wallace and Gwynn, playing board games, watching reruns of Law and Order, and cooking together. Audrey and Sam have started building a beautiful life together and can’t wait to keep growing and loving each other forever.

Travel & Accomodation

We recommend flying in and out of Dublin Airport (DUB). The venue in Waterford is about a 2 to 2.5 hour drive from Dublin, mostly along a main highway.

We’ll be arranging group transportation for guests who’d like a ride from Dublin to the venue on Sunday, and back to Dublin on Tuesday after check-out. You’ll be able to opt in when you RSVP — or feel free to make your own travel plans if you prefer.

Waterford Castle offers beautiful lodge accommodations right on the island. Each lodge has 3 bedrooms and can host up to 6 guests, making them great for sharing with family or friends. The rate for the entire lodge is $350 for one night or $550 for two nights. Check-in is at 4pm and check-out is at 11am.

We’ve reserved on-site lodges that guests can book by emailing info@waterfordcastleresort.com. When emailing, please list all guest names staying with you and the dates of stay.
If you'd like to stay in a lodge and want the bride and groom to help you coordinate who to stay with, please select that option in the RSVP and we’ll be in touch!

You can view more details about the lodges here

If you prefer to stay off the island, the castle’s ferry runs every 15 minutes and can take you to and from the venue by foot or car for all events.

Frequently Asked Questions

01

When is the RSVP deadline?

We kindly ask that you RSVP by April 30th, 2026. We can't wait to celebrate with you!

03

Can I bring a plus one? Can I bring my kids?

Your RSVP will include your children and should also specify whether you have a plus-one. We may be able to accommodate additional guests—just reach out and ask.

05

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

The ceremony will start promptly at 2pm so please arrive and be seated no later than 1:50pm.

07

Will drinks be served?

Yes! Beer and wine will be served at the welcome dinner and wedding. If you’d like a cocktail or another drink, the castle’s full bar will be open for purchase.

09

Why are you getting married in Ireland?

When we started thinking about our wedding, we loved the idea of bringing family and friends from across the U.S. (and France) together in a meaningful place where we could share special memories. Ireland felt like the perfect place given Audrey’s Irish roots and our love for travel. We're so excited to start this new chapter by celebrating with our favorite people!

02

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

We’re planning for an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour, weather permitting. We’ll make the final call by 11:00am on the wedding day based on Irish weather (fingers crossed!). If there is inclement weather both the ceremony and cocktail hours will be moved indoors.

04

What should I wear?

The dress code for the wedding is formal attire. Men do NOT need to wear tuxedos.

For the welcome dinner, we suggest smart casual attire.

06

What's on the menu for both days?

The welcome dinner will be a gourmet BBQ buffet. The wedding meal will be a five-course dinner. Please list any dietary restrictions in your RSVP and we'll be sure to have them accommodated!

08

Will breakfast be included for on-site accomodation?

Breakfast is included for the castle rooms but is not included for the lodges. Lodge guests can request breakfast at an additional cost when booking.
